Many of us are still in summer mode, but there are plenty of things to look out for before closing out the season. I am excited to share our August updates with you below:
Back to School Immunization Awareness
After a year of interruptions and distance learning, the back-to-school rush may be a bit more intense this year. It is important to ensure your kids are adequately protected before returning to school, be it to a hybrid or fully in-person model. Since August is also National Immunization Awareness Month, I wanted to share some immunization guidelines to help keep your kids’ and teens’ vaccinations on track.
The Foreign Service Benefit Plan (FSBP) offers no out-of-pocket costs for routine immunizations received from an in-network provider or overseas provider.
COVID-19 Vaccination Incentive
FSBP members aged 18 years or older who received the COVID-19 vaccine during 2021 are now eligible to earn a $25 wellness reward. To earn the incentive, FSBP members must upload documentation (like a copy of their vaccination card) through our AFSPA member portal. Once we review the documentation and verify that the member is fully vaccinated, we will deposit $25 into the member’s Wellness Fund Account. For more information, visit our COVID-19 Updates webpage.
Update Your Address
Once again, it is Transfer/Permanent Change of Station (PCS) season. Do not forget to update your mailing address, telephone number and email address with us (if you have not already). You can update this information through the Member Portal as well.
