Our members serve worldwide and build families in many different ways. So we are pleased to extend our “Caring for Your Health Worldwide” pledge to members in our household including family, domestic partners, au pairs and nannies, and friends.
These plans are ideal for those family members and friends not eligible under your Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP). The plans also provide coverage for U.S. citizens spending extensive time with you overseas or foreign nationals needing healthcare coverage while residing with you in the U.S. or while traveling outside their home country.
Global Medical Insurance (GMI)

Global Medical Insurance (GMI) provides worldwide health insurance for your qualifying household members anywhere in the world your position takes you. GMI gives you maximum flexibility to select the coverage that works best for you by allowing you to choose from five different plan options; customize your length and area of coverage; and select from multiple deductibles and payment methods.

- Access to a network of providers and facilities both in the U. S. and overseas
- Applicant(s) must be traveling outside of their home country

Liaison Travel Medical Series
For loved ones visiting outside of their home country
The Liaison Travel Medical Series offers three plan options with various levels of coverage. Applicants must be traveling outside of their home country and reside with you at least five days to a maximum of 364 days. Geographic restrictions apply.

- No maximum age limits. *Maximum coverage for ages 80+ is limited to $20,000

Note: Not available to persons with an address in MD, WA, NY, SD & CO or in the country of Iran, Syria, Gambia, Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Ineligible for trip destinations to Iran and Syria (see plan brochure).

GlobeHopper Senior
Protection for senior family members when they travel outside the U.S.
GlobeHopper Senior provides worldwide travel medical insurance to family members traveling outside of the United States. To qualify, applicants must be U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents who are over the age of 65. GlobeHopper Senior offers two plan options: Single-Trip and Multi-Trip.
- Choose from 2 plan options
- Must be age 65 and over
- Must be qualified for Medicare and actively enrolled in a Medicare Parts A & B and a Medicare Supplement plan; or actively enrolled in a Medicare Advantage Plan
- No maximum age limits. Maximum coverage for ages 80+ is limited to $100,000
