May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Here at AFSPA, we have always prioritized mental health as part of your overall health. This is especially true during these uncertain times. This month, we invite you to participate in some of the support programming we’ve scheduled. Our podcast, ‘AFSPA Talks,’ and our live Q&A webcast, ‘AFSPA Live,’ will explore our overseas and stateside mental health options.
In addition, we’ve partnered with Prudential Life Insurance of America to offer the Managing Employment Changes webinar series. This series is designed for mid-career level members who are managing an employment change. In addition, we’ll be presenting a second webinar series, Transitioning Successfully Into Retirement.

Senior Term Life Insurance
We are pleased to announce the newest addition to AFPSA’s life insurance portfolio – Senior Term Life. Designed specifically for AFSPA members aged 65 – 74, Senior Term Life is designed to care for final expenses such as funeral costs, outstanding debt, or gifts to family or charity.
Built especially for AFSPA’s membership, Senior Term Life features two benefit amounts ($15,000 and $25,000), affordable rates, and optional coverage for your spouse or domestic partner. Even if you have an existing life insurance policy, this important coverage can be used to help pay for immediate expenses or as a gift to others when you are gone.
Massage Claims
We’d like to remind you to please file your massage claims as soon after your visit as possible. This will expedite the process of us ensuring the therapist is licensed and providing your reimbursement. As part of your submission, please include both the detailed bill from your provider and evidence of your payment to the provider – either a credit card receipt, a“paid” stamp, or other proof of cash payment. This, too, will ensure faster processing of your claim.
Member Appointment Scheduling Tool
In an effort to better serve you, we have developed a tool for those who visit our offices to schedule appointments with us. This will ensure you meet with the best AFSPA team member to address your specific needs. We will also be able to welcome you to our office in compliance with security standards.
Visit our website to book an appointment. Your request will be automatically routed to the Health Team or AIP for verification. Once verified, the Health or AIP team will forward your name and appointment details to our Administrative team, who then submits a visitor request. On the day of the appointment, you simply check in upon arrival. It’s that simple—book, verify, notify, and arrive. Check out this video tutorial to learn more.
Last but certainly not least, I’d like to wish a very Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms and Mother figures.
To Living and Feeling Better,
