From the CEO - March 2026

Dear AFSPA Member,

The AFSPA Annual Member Meeting is set for Friday, March 6, at 11:00 am ET. I invite all AFSPA members to join this hybrid meeting. We are no longer accepting in-person RSVPs; however, you can still register to participate virtually. To join virtually, please register here. We will share valuable insights on AFSPA’s 2026 initiatives, and we look forward to your attendance and feedback.

Tax Season

Just a friendly reminder, you can request a hard copy of your 1095-B tax document via the AFSPA Member Portal. This document is not required to file your tax return but should be kept in your 2025 tax file. If you have any questions about this form, please email enrollment@afspa.org.

Additionally, if you need any help with your taxes, AFSPA has partnered with Beers, Hamerman, Cohen & Burger, P.C., who can assist you with expert accounting, tax, assurance, and personalized services. Special rates are available for AFSPA members. Please visit afspa.org/professionalservices to learn more about their services.

Update: FSBP GLP-1 Program Requirements Beginning March 1st

Earlier this year, the Foreign Service Benefit Plan (FSBP) launched EncircleRx in partnership with Evernorth/Express Scripts and Teladoc Health to provide additional support for members prescribed GLP-1 medications for weight management. While the intent of the program is to strengthen clinical support and improve health outcomes, the initial rollout created challenges for some members. For that, I sincerely apologize.

After implementing corrective measures and closely monitoring system performance, I am confident the issues have been resolved. Effective March 1, 2026, program participation requirements will resume.

Members prescribed a GLP-1 for weight management must enroll in either the Teladoc Advanced Weight Management Program or the Teladoc Advanced Pre-Diabetes Program prior to their first 2026 fill, meet monthly participation requirements for refills, and ensure their provider submits an updated prior authorization. An informational email was sent to affected members on February 24, and a follow-up letter will be mailed by the end of next week. We remain committed to providing the right tools and support to help you achieve better health.

Telehealth: Protect Your Digital Privacy

As telehealth continues to expand, it remains an important and convenient way to access care. In alignment with our 2026 theme, Better Tools: Better Health, we are committed to ensuring these tools support safe, high-quality, and secure care for you and your family.

We want you to feel informed and protected when using telehealth services, including understanding billing practices, privacy protections, quality-of-care standards, and your rights under state-specific informed consent laws. We also encourage you to review the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) patient resources on protecting your health data.

Finally, keep connecting with us to discover how to maximize your benefits and coverage through our blogs, weekly podcastsocial media platforms, and free educational webinars. Join us all month long for Medicare March, where we will cover all things Medicare. Look out for your 2026 AFSPA in Action Spring Newsletter which will arrive in your mailbox next month. You can also read past issues of our newsletters on our website

Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful and healthy spring season. Thank you for your ongoing trust and for allowing us to serve you and your family.

To Better Health,
