2023 Foreign Service Benefit Plan Benefit Enhancements & Updates
Slight Premium Increase See back cover of FSBP Brochure
Your share of the premium rate will increase by $5.12 for Self Only, or increase by $13.81 for Self Plus One, or increase by $12.68 for Self and Family
Added Coverage of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) Procedures See section 5(a) under Infertility Services of the FSBP brochure
FSBP added limited coverage for services, supplies and drugs related to Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) procedures up to $5,000 maximum per person per calendar year
Added Coverage for Physical and Emotional Support Provided by a Licensed Doula See section 5(a) of the FSBP Brochure
FSBP now offers coverage for services performed by a licensed doula up to $1,200 per calendar year
Enhanced the Prenatal Wellness Incentive Healthy Action See section 5(h) of the FSBP Brochure
Pregnant members can earn up to a total of $200 during prenatal and postnatal
Enhanced our Healthy Pregnancy Program See section 5(h) of the FSBP Brochure
Our Healthy Pregnancy Program will provide additional resources to pregnant members, including access to a fertility advocate

New Brochures for 2023
There are two ways to enroll in the Foreign Service Benefit Plan.
You must remember your enrollment code and the full name of the health plan.
Download and fill out a Health Benefits Election Form (SF 2809) and submit to your Human Resources office.
There are two periods when Federal employees and retirees can enroll for the first time or switch their enrollment type.
All actively working or retired federal employees can enroll in, change or cancel their health plan during Open Season, which is typically the second Monday of November through the second Monday of December each year. Learn more.
If you’re a new Federal employee eligible for Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB) coverage, you have 60 days from your start date to enroll in a health plan.
Qualifying Life Event
You may make changes to your health plan outside of Open Season if you have a qualifying life event. These include getting married, having a baby, getting divorced or you move outside of the plan’s coverage area. Learn more.
